Guest & Associate Safety Standards

Guest & Associate Safety Standards

As always, the safety of our guests, members, and associates is our highest priority and we want you to feel confident when visiting our properties. Please know that in light of the COVID-19 situation, we have chosen to enhance our cleaning procedures and staff training, exceeding the preventative measures outlined by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the re-opening guidelines of the state of Wisconsin.

What precautions does Geneva National Resort & Club take?

From our golf operations and housekeeping procedures to our food & beverage safety protocols, we have modified our operations to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Golf Safety Precautions & Policies

For your safety, Geneva National will make some temporary modifications to golf service, as follows:

  • All tee times and payments must be made in advance by phone.

    • Rain checks will be issued if you cancel your tee time within (4) days of your tee time. You will receive a full refund if you cancel (4) or more days prior to your tee time.

  • Golf carts will be available for use on all three of our golf courses. These are deemed single-riding carts unless golfers are from the same household.

  • We ask golfers to arrive no earlier than 5-10 minutes prior to their tee times to promote social distancing.

  • To eliminate touching golf bags, Player Services will not be providing bag service at this time. Instead, golfers may leave their bags at the Clubhouse entrance, secure a golf cart, and retrieve their bags. Otherwise, golfers may walk down with their bags to the cart staging area by the putting greens.

  • To avoid on-course touch points, there will be no water coolers, ball washers, or rakes.  (Please gently smooth sand with your feet as you exit the bunker.)

  • Scorecards and pencils are available upon request.

  • Flagsticks will remain in the hole at all times and the pins and cups will be modified with a touchless ball release.

  • On-course portable toilets will be equipped with hand sanitizer.

  • Please be respectful of our golf staff and fellow golfers by maintaining social distancing on and off course.

  • Please avoid traditional end-of-round high-fives and handshakes.

  • The driving range currently allows for extra space between bays for social distancing. No tees or alignment sticks will be set out.

  • Naturally, if you are feeling at all under the weather or have traveled recently, please wait the requested 14 days before hitting the course. Also, if you are in a high-risk category, we ask that you please take extra precautions.

Guest Room Cleaning Procedures

  • Our Housekeeping team has been trained on proper cleaning procedures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

  • Before each shift, our Housekeeping staff is cleared for work with a health screening that includes temperature checks and a health questionnaire.

  • Staff is provided fresh masks and gloves, which are always changed between guest rooms and after cleaning bathrooms.

  • Windows are opened to increase air circulation during the cleaning process.

  • All hard surfaces are first cleaned then disinfected. Touch points — including remotes, clocks, thermostats, coffeemakers and ice buckets — are cleaned and sanitized.

  • Soft surfaces, such as furniture and carpeting, are cleaned with soap and water, if needed, then disinfected with an EPA-registered disinfectant.

  • Towels, linens and bedding are cleaned and bleached at our in-house commercial laundry facility at water temperatures of 140 F and drying temperatures of 160-180 F.

  • Glassware in rooms has been substituted with disposable cups.

  • Our Housekeeping managers oversee each room cleaning to ensure that hygiene standards are maintained.

  • Housekeeping services are not performed when rooms are occupied. Please call the Front Desk for extra towels or other supplies.

  • In public areas, we frequently disinfect lobbies, elevators, door handles and bathrooms with a hospital-grade disinfectant and anti-viral sanitizing carpet cleaner.

  • Our Maintenance team regularly disinfects all PTAC units both in guest rooms and atop buildings.

  • Hand-sanitizer stations have been installed throughout the resort.

Food & Beverage Operations

  • Our dining facilities are adhering to guidelines set out by the Wisconsin Restaurant Association/ServSafe and state of Wisconsin.

  • Before each shift, food & beverage staff are cleared through a health screening that includes temperature checks and a health questionnaire.

  • To provide a safe dining experience, all staff are provided fresh and necessary PPE and those preparing and serving food wear face masks or cloth coverings.

  • Food contact surfaces are sanitized after each use and high-contact areas such as doorknobs, buttons, and cooler doors are sanitized frequently.

  • Tables are set a minimum of six feet apart to allow for ample social distancing and tables and chairs are sanitized between seatings.

  • Each facility is led by a a certified food safety manager with ServSafe training and an up-to-date food handler’s license.

What precautions should I take?

Please follow the CDC wellness measures, which emphasize frequent hand-washing for a minimum of 20 seconds, using a hand sanitizer containing at least 60% alcohol, and avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. Additionally, avoid close contact with people who are sick.
